Board of Directors Announcement

It is with great sadness that we report the resignation of Dr. Jacqueline Harvey Abernathy, Ph.D. Due to a need for more time for pro-life legislative research for the upcoming 2021 legislative sessions around the country Dr. Abernathy has decided to step down and focus on these much-needed efforts in order to help the pro-life community.  Dr. Abernathy has been a wonderful asset to the Society of St. Sebastian and she will be greatly missed. We thank her for all that she has done and we thank her in advance for all she will do to help the pro-life community help establish a Culture of Life.

 

However, it is with great pleasure to announce that Dr. J. David Franks, Ph.D., will be joining the board of directors for the Society of St. Sebastian. Dr. Franks brings a considerable background to our Society. Having received his Ph.D. in systematic theology at Boston College he taught at St. John’s Seminary for nine years. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life where he also founded their Lincoln Forum for Human Dignity. He also serves as a Research Fellow for the Abigail Adams Institute and is a 2020 Academic Fellow for the Society. Dr. Franks is not only a theologian but a pro-life scholar. He brings not only his scholarly expertise to the Society but also his wealth of experience of working within and with other pro-life organizations.  Dr. Franks is a devoted father of six wonderful children and we welcome his efforts to help us in furthering our mission to spreading the intellectual and ethical understanding of pro-life public policy.
