Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 

Announced an interpretation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to impede states where abortion is restricted from enforcing their laws by extending privacy protections for women seeking an abortion, and those who perform abortions.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)

Issued its final ruling regarding The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), which was a law passed to provide accommodations for pregnant workers.  The EEOC ruled that this law intended to help pregnant women must also accommodate abortion.

Legislative

Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced the VA Abortion Transparency Act of 2024 to help track the number of abortions performed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and monitor any illegal use of taxpayer funds.
